Agenda
Thursday, June 16, 2022
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Hands-on Workshop: GYN or Prostate (Registrants will have the opportunity to select either GYN or Prostate)
5:15 pm – 6:15 pm
Hands-on Workshop: Breast or Skin (Registrants will have the opportunity to select wither Breast or Skin)
Prostate: The prostate pre-meeting workshop offers attendees the opportunity to perform key components of an implant on phantom models, with the guidance of experienced prostate brachytherapists. Both LDR and HDR modality stations are available, as well MR integration solutions. Learning is enhanced with round table case planning and discussion.
GYN: The gynecology brachytherapy hands-on experience will be an interactive workshop in which participants will be able to increase their gynecologic brachytherapy knowledge. Participants will spend time with gynecology brachytherapy hybrid applicators, freehand needles, and ultrasound with mannequins and models to simulate a real-time experience. They will have a virtual reality experience to participate in a simulated patient. Participants will discuss cases and scenarios with faculty, interact with planning software, and gain insight as to skills for their own brachytherapy patients.
Skin: In the skin brachytherapy pre-conference workshop, we will provide a hands-on experience with skin standard applicators and custom approaches. We will explore real-world treatment planning and interact with experienced physicians to discuss the real-world practicalities of these techniques. New for this year’s conference, we will have a 3D printing demonstration to highlight innovation in the development of custom molds and challenging anatomy.
Breast: We will review 3 challenging breast brachytherapy cases with experienced physicians and physicists. Tips & techniques for successful placement, as well as CT-based planning strategies, will be discussed. We will have multiple applicators available to test and a computer-planning workstation for hands-on practice
